Suresh & Swati – A Magical Love Story

I met Suresh when he joined KFC as an Area Manager. I fell in love with him from the moment I saw him. He was a very kind and understanding person and as a bonus he was handsome as well. We were an unconventional couple as he is a Malayali and I a Hindu but that did not matter as our hears connected strongly.
We were married in blissful fairytale North Indian style wedding with allour relatives attending it. One year passed in a blink, we didn’t even realize it.
But tragedy struck our peaceful lives when Suresh was diagnosed with COLON CANCER. We were devastated and shattered but thanked GOD that it was in its curable stage. We consulted several specialists but couldnt get proper satisfactory treatment then Tata Memorial Hospital took upp Suresh’s case and he underwent surgery. After several rounds of chemotherapy and tests, Suresh was declared FREE from cancer.
But life was to test us more and after 2 years Suresh was diagnosed with recurrence of colon cancer. This time the entire family was heart broken and lost all hope of recovery. But as the saying JAKE RAKHE SAIYA MAR SAKE NA KOI… we met Dr Shubham. He truly proved a saviour. We fought this battle together. We had showed Cancer that our love story is stronger than the pain it gives.
Since then Suresh and I have been going together for his tests to Mumbai and we have always returned with a smiling face as have DEFEATED CANCER FOR GOOD.
A Battle Worth Fighting For….
When my mother in law was diagnosed with ENDOMETRIAL CANCER, our whole family was in a state of shock. This was a very tough period for our family. My husband had already lost his father to esophageal cancer 10 years back. So, my mother in law was the only elder member of our family.
Though my mother in law is a very strong person, but the first week was really bad. She was really scared and without wasting any time, we consulted our oncosurgeon for his advice and after complete staging surgery was planned. I think the most important thing was that within one week of getting to know of cancer, surgery was done.
My Mother in Law was morbidly obese with known diabetes and hypertension and was at very high risk for general anaesthesia for any kind of surgery and that was my concern. Though, I am myself a doctor but I was really scared for her. I was in a dilemma as I knew every possible complication related to surgery and anaesthesia but I could not even share it with my family. But the team of doctors counseled me and my family well and with Gods Grace she underwent a successful surgery.
The biopsy report showed Stage 1 cancer which required only 5 sessions of radiotherapy and she was spared from any type of chemotherapy. But due to obesity and her diabetes, postoperative period was not very good as she developed stitch line infection. She was discharged timely but it took almost 6 months for her to fully recover.
The hospital staff and treating doctors were very cooperative and supportive. They boosted my mother in laws moral whenever she visited the hospital. Their motivation and efforts along with my mother in laws strong will power won over the disease. She became alright after a long struggle. She never lost faith in me and her doctor. She is now on regular follow up for the past 6 months.
My family was my support system. My sister in law, my brother in law and my husband all cooperated and worked hard towards her recovery. So finally it was a battle worth fighting.

HERO is an Ordinary Individual
My father was diagnosed with Oesophageal Cancer in June 2017. When my gastro doctor informed me about this, it was terrifying. I was in dilemma for some time as there was no treatment for Cancer available in my city. Some of my relatives and friends suggested me to go to Mumbai while others were insisting me for Delhi. It was a tough decision for me. As my sister and brother-in-law lives in Delhi, I took decision to take him to Delhi as I could seek help from them at any point of time.
My brother recommended me Dr Shubham Garg. The way he explained me about the disease and its treatment, I was partially relieved. Although after the first visit, we went to few hospitals and met some doctors to take a second opinion. But I was satisfied with the way Dr Shubham suggested us and we started my fathers treatment with him. During the treatment I learnt one thing that once you have started your treatment you must stick to that particular doctor and trust him completely and get the best out of it.
In the beginning of the treatment, my father was given Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy simultaneously. He was in a lot of pain initially and also was not able to eat properly. But I had full confidence on Dr Shubham. He and his team was very supportive throughout the treatment. After this, Dr Shubham operated on his and today he is completely fit.
If one gets to know about cancer, then the treatment of this is surely possible. Do not get scared of this disease. The one who fights the fear overcomes this disease.Nobody should take its symptoms lightly and must consult a doctor regarding this. Awareness about cancer helps to defeat cancer.
There were many obstacles during the treatment but ‘a HERO is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure inspite of overwhelming obstacles’.

I am a housewife residing at Agra running in my sixties. It was a bad day in my life when I came to know that I have developed a hard painful swelling in my right breast. I was shocked to think about it as I knew that a swelling at this age in breast could be cancer.
I discussed this with my daughter in law who being a doctor herself, immediately ordered an ultrasound, mammogram and a FNAC. I impatiently awaited the reports with constant fear in my heart for the adverse.
Soon came the news that it was cancer and life seemed to be at an end for me. I went into severe depression knowing that treatment is going to be a long painful process with uncertainty of life.
Then I came to know about Dr Shubham Garg at Max, Vaishali Hospital, Ghaziabad through a common friend. Going through his credentials of being trained at TATA Cancer Hospital, Mumbai, my daughter-in law immediately booked an appointment with him at Max.
On my first visit itself I realized that Dr. Shubham is well trained, competent and a passionate oncosurgeon. He was well versed with the subject and he made the treatment look so simple that my tension got relieved to a great extent. He explained to me patiently all treatment options and finally I agreed to undergo Breast Conservation Surgery.
The surgery went smoothly and I was discharged from the hospital very next day. I was feeling very happy and satisfied. I was on regular follow up as advised and then Dr Shubham directed me for Chemotherapy & Radiotherapy.
Today after 6 months from the start of treatment I am leading a completely normal life. My perception of cancer has changed and I have realized that if you choose the right doctor then even worse of the illnesses can be taken care of in a comfortable manner. Thanks to Dr Shubham for giving me a second life.

Breast Cancer Survivor

Yes… I am a survivor
In March 2017, I felt prolonged tiredness while carrying out day to day activities. At first, I thought it was just laziness due to reduced physical activity. My appetite had also reduced and had slight trouble while breathing. I visited a few doctors and shared all concerns in detail. A Chest Specialist asked me to do a CT scan and followed it with a biopsy. The tests results and other reports established a case of Non Small Cell Lung Carcinoma (NSCLC) and a major surgery was required to be done. Doctor recommended immediate admission in the hospital which made me worried. I was petrified at the thought of cancer and undergoing a major surgery. 12 years back from then, I braved a heart attack and wasn’t as scared. I had done major lifestyle changes and was on a regular heart medications. There was fear and anxiety of treatment and every doctor was suggesting surgery.
Fortunately, we recalled an old friend whose relative, Dr Shubham Garg was a cancer surgeon in one of Mumbai’s renowned hospital. When we contacted hin, we came to know that he was now practicing in Delhi NCR. We sent him all reports and diagnosis over email and he asked us to come to Delhi for treatment. He instilled tremendous confidence in me to get rid of the unwanted guest in my body and adviced to start treatment immediately without waiting any longer.
Treatment was started and all required tests were done. Dr Shubham and his team of experts explained all necessary procedures to me. Doctors confidence and happy nature kept me going always. On the morning of 10th June 2017, I was taken in the operation theatre for the surgery and 5 hours hence, I saw my wife’s smiling face on the success of surgery. Within 24 hours of surgery, I was out of the ICU with my wife and children and watching cricket match in the hospital room. I was home in 10 days, happy and healthy.
Now began the next phase of chemotherapy. I had seen patients loose hair during this treatment but with Gods grace and doctors constant care, chemotherapy ended without any side effects or hair loss. Minor discomfort during chemotherapy was there but the confidence of seeing shining light at the end of tunnel was with me all thanks to my doctor, care takers and family.
I am thankful to have found such well informed doctors who were like my guardian angel through the journey of surviving this dreadful disease. Im now leading a content and healthy life with friends and family.

My family life was spiraled out of control in early January when my father was diagnosed with LUNG CANCER. I was scared for his life. My closest friend from childhood and her husband (Arjun Gurung) suggested to come to Max Super Specialty Hospital. The Doctor Shubham Garg and staff members were very kind, helpful, sympathetic and supportive towards my father and my family.
My father had to go through surgery for the lungs at the age of 75 years. According to the doctors, the surgery tends to get complicated in elderly patients. The odds were against my father. However the doctors performed a 6 hour long surgery in which the whole lung had to be removed and managed to save my fathers life. However because of his age he had to be kept in the ICU on ventilator.
I remember my doctors excitement when my fathers ventilator wore off after 9 days. They praise my father for his bravery to defeat the cancer but I will never forgeth their kid and encouraging words during those difficult times.
I believe that Max hospital provides the excellent medical care. All the employees are very experienced and exceptional at their job. I am certain of that I will never find dedicated, caring, competent and finest doctors, staff members and medical care in a ny other establishment. For those who seek the best medical treatment, this hospital is my first choice. This hospital, doctors and nurses gave my father a decade more. I will forever be grateful and in debt.

I have fought against cancer and won. I had a problem of stomach ache and constipation in September 2016. I took treatment from local doctors but there was no relief. Then I consulted a Gastroenterologist who adviced some tests and following that I was diagnosed with colonic carcinoma. I took consultation at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Vaishali where I was adviced for surgery. At that time my weight was only 42 kgs. Dr Arun Goel, Dr Shubham Garg and Dr Vaishali Zamre operated on me and diseased part of my large intestine was removed. The surgery was successful and I was started on chemotherapy by Dr Khatri. Though chemotherapy was painful, I am well now and taking care of my business as before. Now my weight is 65 kgs. I am thankful to my team of doctors and my relatives for their constant encouragement.
I appeal to all those suffering from cancer that do not be fearful of this disease because it is curable and Im an example of this.

My mother Maya Devi had regular pain in mouth and she was taking ayurvedic medication. When the pain did not get relived, local doctors suspected something serious and suggested us to visit Siliguri for next level of treatment. When we visited one of the best and busiest hospital in Siliguri we got the shocked news that it was infact Mouth Cancer and already in Stage 3.
My family never expected such disease and we decided to go to Mumbai to Tata Hospital. After a weeks stay in Mumbai we were told by Doctors at TMH that she needed surgery and there were almost 80% chances of complete recovery. As my mother stays in Purnea, North Bihar, it was difficult for us to stay in Mumbai for 1 month and we requested to be referred to Delhi as my job is in Delhi.
We were refered to Dr Shubham Garg in Delhi. When we visited him, we found him to be very helpful. She was admitted in the hospital for surgery under him on 12th October 2016 and next day she underwent surgery. After 3 hours of surgery, we were relieved and are very thankful of Dr Shubham and his team for quick response towards our case.
No my mother is recovered fully and we are on regular follow up with Dr Saheb and follow his recommendations and suggestions. Many many thanks to Dr Shubham Garg and his team and I wish for him for a healthy, wealthy and wise life ahead.
